ABOUT DIRECTIONS INTERACTIVE CITY MAP
"Directions is an interactive object for public" allowing for anyone to visit various parts of the city by stepping onto their locations on an interactive map projected on the street. The screen standing next to the interactive map shows photos, movies and interactive content related to our position on the map. Anyone can use the object. It can be installed in an open public space, on the street or virtually anywhere where there is a bit of space for movement. The video shows the object as presented in Katowice, Poland, as part and commissioned by the Miasto Ogrodów project.
TECHNICAL DETAILSThe system is based on sensor control hardware and author's software allowing anyone to visit chosen locations of the city. The multimedia inside the object can be uploaded dynamically or streamed via internet. All multimedia and video are interactive and generated by the interaction of the performer. The software is written in Java environment.
